Muse & Museums is thrilled to present art activations inspired by community-building, culture, and curiosity. Join us at It's OK* Studios for an engaging African Textile Collage workshop led by Apanaki Temitayo M., where you'll explore the vibrant world of textile collage art.

This hands-on workshop highlights the creative interplay of shapes, colors, and textures in textiles. Participants will use African fabrics on canvas to create a unique textile collage. You’ll be encouraged to explore themes of mood and self-expression through various collage techniques.

About the Artist:

Apanaki Temitayo M, a pansexual fibre artist from Trinidad based in Toronto, intertwines her artistic identity with her Trinidadian heritage and spirituality. She served as the Artist in Residence at Nia Centre for the Arts in 2023 and held the title of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health’s first Artist in Wellness from 2019 to 2021. She was also the first Woman of Colour featured in Room Magazine's Women of Color issue in 2016. Notable exhibitions include Numb at Workman Arts and international recognition at the North Charleston Cultural Arts Department’s 9th Annual African American Fiber Art Exhibition.
